Johanna’s CZT‑EU9 Dream Came True

Update from the CZT-EU9 Seminar February 2026

We are so happy to share some wonderful news with you. Thanks to the generosity of the Zentangle community and everyone who contributed to the Tangling for Solidarity fundraiser, Johanna Stary was able to attend the CZT‑EU9 seminar in Munich this month — a dream she has held for a long time.

Johanna not only completed the seminar, she returned home inspired, energised, and full of ideas for how she will bring Zentangle into her own community. She also sent a heartfelt thank‑you letter to everyone who made this possible:

Dear Tangle Community,

Thanks to you, I was able to participate in the CZT-EU9 training in Munich. I am truly grateful to you for making this experience and training possible for me.

I learned a lot of new things about tangling and teaching, and I am still overwhelmed by the impressions and connections I made with other people. My head is full of ideas about how I can spread Zentangle in my community and teach it. The seminar helped me to grow beyond myself and integrate creativity even more into my life. Attached are some tiles that were created this weekend.

All of this was only made possible by the campaign and the people who participated in Tangling for Solidarity. You have fulfilled my biggest dream.

Thank you so much.

Yours, Johanna

It’s beautiful to see what can happen when a community comes together — one person’s dream becomes a shared celebration. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, tangled, and supported this initiative. You made a real difference.

A Heartfelt Community Achievement

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of "Tangling for Solidarity," a fundraising workshop dedicated to supporting Johanna Stary from Frankfurt on her journey to become a certified Zentangleteacher (CZT). Thanks to the generosity and passion of our community, we have raised an astounding €3,372.56 through the live workshop and the sale of the video recording!

This will cover Johanna’s in-person attendance at the seminar in Munich, and the rest will go to support future CZT-EU seminar scholarships.

This is the third consecutive fundraising event we’ve hosted in collaboration with the wonderful Anica Gabrovec (@Zen.linea), each one demonstrating the power of coming together to make a difference.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who participated, supported, and believed in this cause. Your generosity and spirit are what make our community so special. We also want to give a huge thank you to Anica for her continued collaboration and for preparing and teaching a stunning tile, that also creates a magnificent mosaic!

We would love to see your tiles! Please share them with us using the hashtag #tanglingforsolidarity2025 and tag @conzentric @zen.linea on social media.

The Conzentric Community

As the European partner for Zentangle Inc., Conzentric believes in the power of this art form to foster connection, growth, and community. We are dedicated to supporting every tangler on their journey, inspiring exploration, learning, and the celebration of individual expression through every stroke.

Thank you greetings from Johanna Stary

Dear participants of the Tangling for Solidarity Workshop,

I was very overwhelmed and touched by how many members of the Zentangle community took part in the workshop to make the scholarship possible for me.

I am very excited to be part of the CZT-EU9 training in February 2026, so that I can then use it to help disadvantaged children, elderly people or young people with concentration difficulties and share it with them.

Thank you so very much 🥰🤗

Yours, Johanna

The story of Johanna Stary

Johanna lives in a deprived area in Frankfurt, with her single parent Mother who cannot provide financial support for the cost of the seminar, and as a teenager, Johanna has no income of her own.

During the Covid Lockdown, Johanna discovered that the Zentangle method played a big part in her life, helping her feel connected to her friends and outside world. Tangling now helps her in her everyday life by managing her ADHD, helping her to focus and concentrate whist producing beautiful small pieces of art.

Johanna would like to share the Zentangle method within her community. She has identified how the Zentangle method can help difficult and socially disadvantaged Children to improve their concentration and motor skills, as well as the senior members within the community.
