December Step-out of the month: Magma Blossom
Step-out for Magma Blossom, December Step-out of the month
Elliott was the step-out of the month for April. It is a grid tangle and a reticula.
Elliott is completed in just three steps - but it does require focus. Most important is to note that the circles in the grid are connected by lines that curve inward between the circles (second step). They alternate their direction as you go down*. Once these curves are in place, Elliott is completed with an "X" in every other section.
I have shown some of my ideas for embellishments, but I would of course love to see yours!
*The technical term for this is "external tangent arc." I learned this from Tomas Padros' instructions on how to draw "Selfeat." The curves that are used in Huggins, by contrast, are "internal tangent arcs".
